Shedding Light on Human Trafficking

Sunday, January 13, 2019

Increase your level of awareness and knowledge of Human Trafficking with Kevin Schwendinger.

Human trafficking is the second largest illegal crime in the world, right behind drugs, and is estimated to be over a 35-billion-dollar industry affecting millions of people. Join Kevin Schwendinger at the Independence Public Library at 1:30 pm for an historic perspective of national and worldwide human trafficking including sex and labor trafficking. He recently completed a bicycle trip across Iowa and Wisconsin to raise awareness about this global issue.

All are welcome to attend in the Community Room as Schwendinger increases your level of awareness and knowledge about human trafficking and explains how our community and parents can realize, recognize, and respond to the situation. No registration is necessary. For more information, please call 319-334-2470.
